Microphone Impedance Matching Transformers

An impedance matching transformer matches the low impedance output from most high quality microphones to the high impedance input required by equipment with mono aux/line input jacks.

Most professional vocal and instrument microphones used in studio recording and live sound applications have low impedance balanced mono outputs while equipment with mono jack inputs typically expect aux/line level high impedance inputs. An impedance matching transformer can improve quality by matching the output from the microphone to the mono aux/line input.
